Volunteer Opportunities Alphapointe has many opportunities for you and your family to Be A Hero to a person with vision loss! Currently, we have the following opportunities available: Audio Reader Program Read and record local newspapers and periodicals that are broadcast over a network specifically for people with vision impairment. This program runs five days a week, and the shifts are from 10:30 – noon, and noon – 1:30 p.m. daily. This project must be completed at the Alphapointe Campus located at 7501 Prospect. Senior Helper and Visitor Visit local seniors with vision impairment or who are blind in their homes. Help by reading mail, running errands, making shopping lists, etc. All Senior Helpers must pass a background check. Administrative Volunteer-Rehab Department Perform a variety of administrative duties in the rehabilitation department to better help us serve our clients with vision loss. Duties include filing, returning phone calls and some light computer work. Event Volunteer/Committee Member Help with the Alphapointe Golf Tournament, Dining in the Dark event, Holiday party, Company Picnic, and other events by working registration, serving on a committee, assisting with fund raising, serving meals, assisting with cleanup and set up, and visiting with Alphapointe employees. This position is performed at the Alphapointe Campus and at other locations around the metro. Make a Difference—Volunteer
